Take Back Events
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), is an opportunity for community members to safely dispose of unused, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs at community events organized with local law enforcement. The 17th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day was held on April 27, 2019. Law enforcement agencies across Minnesota collected more than 6 tons of unneeded medications. The next Take Back Day will be on Saturday, October 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at locations across the state. If you are looking to dispose of unused, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs on Take Back Day, you may find a participating Take Back Day disposal site using the DEA’s Collection Site Locator, available here. If you are a representative of a law enforcement agency or organization interested in participating in Take Back Day in your community, or you are looking for drug take back event locations, contact the DEA for more information.
